Camera Club
The Camera Club is attended by 14 service users. The group meets on alternate Saturdays and learns about the theory and practice of taking good photographs with the emphasis being placed on practical activities.
Service User Participation
The service user involvement working party was set up in early 2010 to look at how the users of our services can be more involved in the running of Prospect. Meetings are held once a month usually at the Head office, and are attended by service users and a cross section of managers and staff.
The first action was to resurrect a service user’s forum which could become the focal point of finding out how and what involvement was wanted. Meetings have taken place with a really good turn. The Forum has already identified in what formats they would like information to be given out, and are writing the service user participation policy.
Service users are telling us that they would like to participate in developing policies and procedures, would like a greater voice in decision making, and would like to participate in the design of services.
It is hoped that the involvement of service users gains momentum and continues to put the users at the centre of what Prospect provides.
