Prospect's Values
Legal and Civil Rights
We are committed to ensuring that the people who use our services have their legal and civil rights met. These include rights to vote, marry, have a family, express opinions and to be protected from abuse.
Independence
We will promote the independence of our service users. This means that we will assume that a person is independent rather than dependent. The support that we provide will always aim to increase independence.
Choice
We believe everyone should be given the chance to make informed choices and take control of their life. This includes making choices about where to live, who to live with, who provides support, where to go to work and how to take part in the local community.
Inclusion
We will enable people to do ordinary things, make use of mainstream services and to be involved in the community.
Individuality
We will treat everyone as an individual. This involves listening, maintaining privacy and dignity and treating everyone with respect.
Communication
We recognise that people communicate in a variety of ways and will ensure that appropriate and relevant methods are used to enable people to communicate.
